Linear TV and non-linear TV in its various forms, the lines are blurring. TV channels want to be present in all markets and on all platforms. SES provides television via satellite direct to the home, to cable and IPTV headends as well as the backend services of Media Content Management for Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Apple TV among others.
On the Isle of Man already, there are a number of events and news broadcasts that are live streamed, or recorded and transmitted via satellite. Most notably the Isle of Man TT, with viewer figures in the millions. PokerstarsTV, from one of the Island’s leading eGaming companies, is also live streaming tournaments. With e-business sector booming on the Island, there is a rise of Island based e-gaming companies operating TV channels.
The Isle of Man broadcasting regulations for licensed operators are based on the EU Media Directive.
